We are DTP Educational Services and have over 40 years experience in the print industry producing branded bespoke school exercise books.

Many of our school clients feel that branded books gives their teachers, pupils and parents a sense of identity and belonging and are very often an extension of their existing school branding.

Some of the feedback that we receive is that very often many school inspection bodies comment positively on them.

All our covers are printed in black as standard with the option to print in colour if required at extra cost. Any printing on the inside covers will be in black.

You can have anything that you wish and we would personalise your school cover to suit your individual requirements. Typically this would be your school logo, subject title and address details.

We can also add your school prayer, mission statement, school motto and if you wish a QR code, which in electronic tag that links a smart phone with the appropriate app, to your school website.

Our standard size books are A4 extra, which is 215mm wide x 297mm high, and 9” x 7”, which is 230mm high x 175mm). However, we offer a bespoke book service so there are other sizes available.

The largest book that we can produce is 225mm wide x 305mm and the smallest is  100mm wide x 150mm.

We offer 52 A4 listings and 25 9” x 7” listings which as you so rightly say is more than any other UK supplier.

We produce each order on a bespoke basis and if we are required to produce a bespoke listing for a school, then there is no reason not to subsequently make it available to other schools the following year.

This is often a feature that is often not appreciated until the books are in use. By producing our books 5mm wider than a standard A4 page (210mm), it allows additional A4 pages to be inserted without the edges becoming damaged over time.

It is indeed which again has developed over the years and we believe that no other supplier offers such a wide range of colours. Schools like the variety of colours as it allows each subject to adopt a specific colour. We have a colour swatch that we will be very happy to send to you.

Lamination enhances the look of the cover, keeps the covers clean and make the books more robust.

The only downside is that you can’t write on them with a pen so you would need to use a permanent marker or use name labels, which is becoming increasingly common.

By their very nature schools exercise books can suffer excessive wear and tear as some pupils treat their books better than others. Moreover some subjects tend to have additional sheets of paper adhered in them which bulks out the books which puts pressure on the staples.

To reduce the likelihood of the covers coming off, we put four staples in books with a higher number of pages.

We provide PDF proofs as standard which will show the colour cover, subject, quantity and paper listing. This removes any possibility of there being any misunderstanding or errors with your order. It also gives you the opportunity to ensure that they are happy with everything before we proceed with your order.

It is time-consuming for us to do this but we believe it is a very worthwhile procedure as it avoids any costly errors.

They are two different products and should be treated as such. Off the shelf books are mass produced and are thus very cheap to produce.

Branded books are a bespoke product and like everything produced individually, are more expensive to produce in smaller quantities.

However, we ensure that our prices remain competitive and believe that we offer an excellent value product.
